The audience figures for Twofour's series Big Chef Takes on Little Chef have exceeded all expectations. Going out over three nights from 19-21 January at 9pm on Channel 4 the audience was clearly hooked from the off. The first night drew 3.5m viewers easily outperforming Channel 4's slot average for this time and much higher than BBC Two and Five. On Tuesday it had grown to 4.1m and a 16%share and on Wednesday it got 4.1m and a 17%share drawing level with BBC One and way ahead of ITV1, Five and BBC Two. The press interest in celebrity chef Heston's attempt to turn around the fortunes of Little Chef has been extensive as well. "This is the best reality show around, because it exposes the motives of those taking part and of television's too.” The Times
