Twofour is producing a new 10 x 60’ property series for Discovery Real Time.  House Wrecks Rescue will search out the ordinary people who have dared to turn their dream of developing a tumbledown barn or romantic ruin into reality.  

“If you have ever driven past an ivy clad ruin that happens to be in the most perfect position and fantasized about turning into your own beautiful home,  but then chickened out,  this series will provide inspiration and hope,” says executive producer Joe Houlihan.  

There are over a million empty properties in Britain, just waiting to be transformed into spectacular homes. In a property market that leaves no room for error trying to turn a wreck into a hot property is anything but easy.  Most of us will drive past a tumbledown barn or a disused chapel and only dream about saving it from total dilapidation.  The sheer scale of these projects is enough to put anyone off, that is, anyone apart from the people in this new series.

Families, property developers, and first time buyers will be risking their relationships, businesses and a whole lot of money attempting to rescue their wrecks and turn them into exceptional homes.  From trouble with builders to bankers they’ll be up against it.  Whether it’s a dovecote, a windmill or even a fishing trawler, House Wrecks Rescue will see if they’ve got what it takes.  

House Wreck Rescue is presented by Gary McCausland and Zilpah Hartley.  It is executive produced by Joe Houlihan and the series producer is Guy Templeton.  The series is scheduled to air later in 2009.
