Home commissions second series of Gutted

Home, the UKTV channel dedicated to homes and gardens, has commissioned Twofour to make a second 10 x 60’ series of Gutted, the show presented by Mark Durden-Smith in which an unsuspecting hoarder comes home to find a completely empty house.
Pencilled to premiere in early 2010 exclusively on Home, the series has been ordered by UKTV’s Clare Laycock, Channel Head of Home and Really, alongside UKTV’s Jane Mote, Director of Lifestyle, Factual and New Media and commissioned by UKTV’s Director of Factual and Factual Entertainment, Jane Rogerson.
Clare Laycock said, “Gutted proves that it’s possible to bring entertainment sensibilities to the property genre. By incorporating a game show element alongside some genuine jeopardy and good dose of humour, we’ve hit upon a channel-defining format that’s popular with viewers and is starting to garner interest internationally.”
Gutted series two sees an unsuspecting hoarder return home to discover their house has been stripped bare: everything they own has been boxed up and loaded into a removal van parked outside. Getting these items back couldn’t be easier – all they have to do is remember what they had and answer a series of relevant questions posed by Mark. But get it wrong and that item is automatically put up for auction. Having seen many of their most treasured possessions auctioned off, our Guttees are offered one final dilemma by Mark – they can keep all the money raised, or get everything they own back. Your money or your life – which will leave you feeling less Gutted?
Featuring a newly branded van, Gutted 1, and a dedicated Gutted auction room, this second run is series produced by Dan Clapton and series directed by James Gurden, with UKTV’s Catherine Catton and Twofour’s Neil Edwards as executive producers.
