Colin Ireland - Real Crime documentary
Hannah’s Killer: Nowhere to Hide
(2009) 1 x 60' Documentary for ITV1

Made for ITV1’s Real Crime strand this is the story of how an unrelenting  six year campaign by the parents of murdered schoolgirl Hannah Foster and Hampshire Police eventually brought the man who raped and murdered Hannah to justice.

Hannah was snatched just 300 yards from her home in Southampton by Maninder Pal Singh Kohli.  After bundling her into his van he raped, strangled then dumped her body in a lay-by.  During the attack Hannah managed to dial 999, but because the operator could not hear what was being said, the system automatically disconnected her and her call was passed to a automated hard disk recording device - because her phone remained switch on throughout, the attack was recorded and later this would be a crucial piece of evidence that would eventually convict Kohli even though he had fled to India and thought he had escaped justice.  This Real Crime documentary reveals how the British detective team secured his conviction.
