The Baron is a three part reality series which gives three household names the opportunity to join the most exclusive club of all - the upper class. Malcom McLaren (legendary Sex Pistols manager), the late Mike Reid (EastEnders' Frank Butcher) and Suzanne Shaw (Hear'Say) swap their celebrity lifestyles to be transplanted to a small Scottish coastal town (Gardenstown near Banff), where they must convince the residents that they have what it takes to become their Baron. As they vie to win the vacant baronial title the competition takes a darker turn. The devoutly religious locals are outraged by Malcolm's hustings speech, in which he calls for an annual Sinners' Day' and all hell breaks loose and he is forced to flee the town. With Malcolm McLaren in exile and Suzanne Shaw and Mike Reid both shell-shocked by the way the election campaign for a new Baron has turned nasty, the people of Gardenstown finally go to the polls. But will there even be a new Baron?

Quotes:
"This is the best celebrity reality show on TV" ".brilliant show." ".excellent fun."
Tim Teeman, The Times
"...magnificently ridiculous reality series."
Paul Whitelaw, The Scotsman
"The last thing television needs is another fish-out-of-water celebrity run-a-round. But when the results are as hilarious as this you'd be forgiven for arguing that, with the right format and mix of characters, it's a genre with endless appeal. After all, television is primarily built for escapist entertainment, something The Baron delivers in spades."
